The Party Attire to Beetle
The tansy beetle is one of nature’s most iridescent overachievers, a tiny creature that somehow convinced evolution to make it look like a living emerald. It has no predators bothered enough to deal with the aesthetic. It simply exists, gleaming, on riverbanks in England, unbothered by the concept of blending in. Design & Details
This costume includes two pieces: a structured back piece that fits like a backpack, complete with sculpted legs fanning out to each side, and a matching hat topped with curling antennae. Both pieces are made from shiny, metallic green lamé that catches light like an actual beetle shell. The eyes on the headpiece are black metallic lamé.
The backpack-style fit means your hands stay free, your front stays unencumbered, and you can hold a drink with the dignity of someone who chose this on purpose. The silhouette from behind is immediate and unmistakable. You are a beetle. A very shiny one.
